As a certified Levels I and II Somatic Voicework™ teacher, my primary goal is to create a safe and playful space where you feel free to test the limits of your sound without fear of judgment. I’m particularly sensitive to students struggling to gain confidence in themselves. The voice is a fascinating instrument with underrated healing potential. I’d love to help you explore yours.
Topics covered:
Developing and moving between vocal registers
Gaining strength and flexibility across the voice
Singing in harmony (for small groups)
Rhythm training
Ear training
Vocal styles: jazz, folk, pop, R&B, musical theatre
For songwriters: writing exercises and feedback provided
A persistent student of voice with various private instructors since childhood, I began offering classes of my own in 2019, after completing an accredited professional voice training course with French Canadian voice coach Tania Zolty. Tania invited me to join her company Body N Voice in Marseille, France, where I went on to teach for two years. (For more background on my performance history and songwriting career, check out my bio.) I am also a certified teacher (and an ongoing student) of Somatic Voicework™, The Lovetri Method, a way of working on all aspects of the voice so that the singer may increase awareness of sound-making as a physical process.
Now based in Chicago, I offer private lessons at my home in Humboldt Park to students of all ages and levels, individually or in small groups.
